Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, has been omitted from the list of players for the international friendly match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Algeria.

Osimhen was forced off the pitch as a result of injury in Napoli’s 4-1 win over Liverpool on last week Wednesday night.

Napoli confirmed a second-degree lesion in Osimhen’s right femoral bicep, but the Nigeria international has already begun his recovery program.

Super Eagles Head Coach, José Santos Peseiro, on Saturday, released a list of players invited for the match that will take place on Tuesday, 27th September.

To lead the line, he opted for Terem Moffi, Taiwo Awoniyi and Cyriel Dessers.

Also on the list are captain Ahmed Musa, deputy captain William Ekong, goalkeepers Francis Uzoho and Maduka Okoye, defenders Kenneth Omeruo, Chidozie Awaziem and Calvin Bassey, and midfielders Wilfred Ndidi and Alex Iwobi.

Only Richard Onyedika, of the Belgian top team, Club Brugge, is a new face in the group. Germany –based defender Kevin Akpoguma also returns to the fold.

Three-time African champions Nigeria and two-time African champions Algeria clash at the 40,000 Stade Olympique in Oran on Tuesday, 27th September, with the invited players expected to confluence in the city of Constantine on Monday, 19th September.
