Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has dismissed the possibility of leaving the Turkish Süper Lig club in the January transfer window, emphasizing his commitment to winning trophies with the Yellow-Reds.
Since joining Galatasaray on loan from Napoli in September, the Nigerian international has been in scintillating form, scoring 12 goals and providing five assists in 14 appearances across all competitions. His performances have sparked transfer speculation, with Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal reportedly interested in securing his services.
Despite these links, Osimhen has reiterated his desire to remain at Galatasaray for the remainder of the season. According to Nigerian journalist Buchi Laba, who is close to the striker’s camp, Osimhen has turned down multiple offers to focus on helping Galatasaray achieve success.
“To make this clear as ABC: Victor Osimhen rejected every offer in January 2025 to stay back at Galatasaray for the full season,” Laba wrote on X. “Yes, there’s legit concrete interest, but the plan has always been to stay at Galatasaray for the full season and win trophies with the team.”
The 24-year-old’s relationship with Napoli remains strained, ruling out the possibility of an early return to the Serie A club. However, former Galatasaray coach Hamza Hamzaoğlu has expressed doubt about the Turkish club’s ability to afford a permanent deal for Osimhen, potentially opening the door for Premier League giants like United or Arsenal to make a move in the summer.
Galatasaray currently lead the Süper Lig standings by eight points and are on course for their 25th league title. They are also in contention in the Europa League, making Osimhen’s contributions pivotal as the season progresses.
