Oshiomhole replies Betsy Obaseki over attack on Okpebholo

Former governor of Edo State, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, has flayed Edo State first lady, Mrs Betsy Obaseki, over “wifeless comment” against candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the September 21, governorship election, Senator Monday Okpebholo.

During the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship campaign in Edo Central Senatorial District, Mrs Obaseki had reportedly described the APC candidate as a man without wife.

Reacting to the comment of Mrs Betay Obaseki, in a video seen by our reporter on social media, Oshiomhole said: “I was shocked to see Mrs. Obaseki saying that our candidate has no wife.

“Here is a woman who has no child. Between him and Obaseki they have no child… They are childless.

“They are even not ready to adopt. I don’t blame anybody who don’t have a child. But people who have love for children go to motherless home and adopt.

“And they have not adopted. They are both in their sixties. So, you married… I don’t know whether it is a contract marriage, but they have no child.

“Our candidate not only has children, he has invested in the education of those children, such that the first one who spoke (at a campaign rally) is a lawyer, and the second is a medical doctor. They addressed the crowd in Edo south, Edo central and north, and their mother was there.”

The development however generated reactions on the social media platform, with some against Oshiomhole comment while other also condemned the first lady of the state.
