Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State on Wednesday signed into law the 2021 budget of N134.3 billion.
The State House of Assembly last week passed the N134.3bn budget following the presentation of the draft document to the Assembly by Ortom on November 5, this year.
The Chairman of Appropriation Committee, Peter Enemari representing Ogbadibo constituency who led the debate before the bill’s passage at the Committee of Supply, had noted an additional N1.7bn on 2021 proposed estimates.
Enemari said this was as a result of additional requests by Public Sector Estimates (PSEs) for the inclusion of some critical projects, which were omitted in the proposed estimates.
The approved recurrent expenditure by the House now signed into law was, therefore, N91.5bn while capital expenditure stood at N42.7bn.
The appropriation bill accented to by the governor according to the House earlier approval has a deficit financing of N23.8bn.
