Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has declared that his second term ambition was not worth spilling of anyone’s blood.

Ortom said that despite the fact his reelection bid was a constitutional right, it was not worth shedding of innocent blood or the hacking down of any citizen’s life.

The governor made the remark when the forum of former political party executives led by Chief Michael Iduma pledged their solidarity to him in Makurdi.

He recalled divine intervention in his 2015 election, stressing, that the same God Who helped him to become a governor would also raise an overwhelming support for his reelection in 2019.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Iduma urged people of the state to reelect the governor  so that he could sustain the good work he started for the state.

Iduma who is a former Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) state chairman, lauded some of the initiatives of the Ortom’s government such as the amnesty programme which recovered illegal weapons and the ranching law of the state.
