Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has disclosed plans underway to dole out free grains to at least 2300 widows across the 23 Local Government Areas of Benue State.
Ortom made the disclosure at the weekend during his meeting with members of the Benue state chapter of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in Makurdi.
He urged the leadership of the PFN at the various councils to identify at least 100 widows in each of the LGAs cutting across all the wards to benefit from the grains- rice and corn flour which he intends to distribute to such category of women.
The governor cautioned the PFN leadership who will handle the selection process against favouritism, stressing the need for the beneficiaries to spread across interdenominational churches.
Ortom also intimated of his plan to hold crusade in all the LGAs of the state with the intent of winning souls to Jesus Christ as fulfilment of his obedience to God’s directive since 2012.
