Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state has condemned the murder of All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Boniface Okloho in Ohimini local government area of the state.
Ortom, in statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, also commiserate with the APC in the state over the murder of the Ohimini LGA party’s chairman.
He urged security agencies to ensure that those responsible are apprehended for prosecution.
The governor described the act as barbaric, anti-democratic and capable of derailing the electoral process in the area.
Ortom said violence in any form has no place in democracy as he stressed that those who take the lives of others on account of politics are the real enemies of the state.
He sympathised with the Okloho family, the people of Ohimini as well as the leadership and members of APC in the state, praying God to grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest.
