The Orthopaedic Hospital Wamakko, Sokoto State, has conducted 12 knee replacements from 2016 to date.
This was disclosed by the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Nuraddeen Aliyu in an interview with some journalist on Friday.

Dr Aliyu added that the hospital attended to about 50 patients everyday for various bone diseases but regretted that wards were over-stretched due to influx of patients from neighbouring states.
He noted with dismay how traditional bone setters were compounding orthopaedic cases in the state.
