The National Orientation Agency (NOA) is partnering with the One Nigeria Reality Project (ONRP) to promote national dialogue, leadership and peace advocacy among youths across the country.
Speaking over the weekend, Director General of the NOA, Garba Abari said the aim is to get young Nigerians involved in promoting the ideals of unity and national heritage from within their communities, state and local region.
The DG noted that he was pleased that the group was deliberately and consciously devoting their time, resources and energy to promote Nigeria’s culture and tradition and also engender peace and the national unity and cohesion.
Abari who observed that they were showcasing their values through patriotism, integrity, tolerance and dignity of labour prayed that the group with what it represents ” are the ones whose shoulders subsequent leadership of this country should fall on “.
Speaking earlier, convener of the project, Chukwuma Okenwa said the group which comprises of 12 young Nigerians from the six geo political zones, were in Abuja to among other activities, engage with some heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies on the role of youths in promoting culture and national values in Nigeria.
He said as young professionals, they want to demystify those prejudice especially now during elections where youths are only used to create violence, by using their medium to promote peace, culture, tourism, and tolerance.
