Oriental Energy Resources Limited has promised the timely release of funds for the host community development trust in Akwa Ibom coastal communities.
The indigenous oil firm stated this during the handover of a rehabilitated teachers’ quarters at 99 year-old St. Monica Primary School, Ibuot Utan in Effiat, Mbo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
Managing Director, Oriental Energy, Mr. Mustafa Indimi said Effiat and Mbo Host Communities Development Trust would get its funds when they meet the agreed terms and conditions of the Trust.
Indimi, who was represented by the Company’s Head, Community Relations, Dr. Uwem Ite, encouraged the trust to protect the project and other facilities, saying the company’s security commitment to the facility would end on March 5, 2025.
He explained that the facility was part of its support to education and human capital development in the Effiat community.
“The Teachers’ Quarters consist of seven (7) one-bedroom apartments with solar-powered lighting and water supply systems, as well as other internal and external fittings to ensure the comfort of the occupants.
While speaking, the Executive Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr Anietie Etuk who was represented by Sir John Udoh, Board Member, Directorate of School Services commend the people for fostering a conducive environment that has allowed Oriental Energy Resources Limited to thrive.
