Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), a multi-security taskforce maintaining peace in Plateau and some parts of Bauchi and Kaduna states, has warned communities in Plateau against engaging in attacks and counter attacks.

Major General Chukwuemeka Okonkwo, OPSH’S commander, gave the warning during an operational visit to Kpashio and Rogochongo villages of Bassa Local Government Area of the state to restore confidence after the recent attacks  in some villages in the area where lives were lost.

A statement signed by the Media Officer of the command, Major Ibrahim Shittu, said the commander was displeased over the incessant attacks being perpetrated within the axis of Irigwe district of the state, by enemies of peace, reiterating the command’s commitment to identify the criminals and bring them to book.

General Okonkwo further assured the people of the villages of OPSH’s readiness to prevent further attacks in the communities and the state at large and called on them to live with one another in peace.

General Okonkwo, who assumed OPSH’s commander on April 7, had promised to improve security situation in areas covered by the operation.
