OPSH: Reports on arrest of commander over Plateau attacks false

The Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) in Plateau State has denied the allegation that they have arrested its sector commander stationed in Bokkos LGA following the unfortunate incident that led to the death of over 100 people in the area.

The command, while responding to reports that the commander of Sector 5 was arrested for alleged involvement in the recent attacks on communities in Bokkos, Barkin Ladi and Mangu LGAs of the state, described the report as false and misleading.

Captain Oya James, the spokesman of the operation, in a statement in Jos, said, “The report is not only baseless but also a deliberate attempt to malign the reputation of our gallant troops and undermine the efforts of Operation Safe Haven, intended to bring those responsible for the reprehensible acts to justice.

“The OPSH urges the public, individuals, groups and all stakeholders to support our troops by providing actionable information that will aid in the ongoing efforts to restore peace and security to the region.

“We urge the public to disregard the misleading and false information being circulated, as it is designed to serve the selfish interests of its purveyors.

“We call on all citizens to desist from spreading inaccurate and misleading stories, particularly those that concern our national security. National security is a collective responsibility, and the efforts of all well-meaning citizens are crucial in enhancing our nation’s security.

“Operation Safe Haven remains resolute in its commitment to upholding the peace and security of our nation and will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that justice is served and tranquility is restored in the affected communities,” Captain James said.
