OPSH denies discovery of cache of arms in Jos

Operations Safe Haven (OPSH) in Plateau state yesterday described as false, a circulated report on social media that the taskforce had discovered a cache of arms and ammunition at Anguwan rogo, a community in Jos north LGA of Plateau State.

A statement issued by the Media and Information Officer of OPSH, Major Adam Umar stated that at no point in time did the multi-security taskforce discover or seize any cache of weapons within Jos metropolis area and called on those peddling such rumours to stop.

"It is a standing operating procedure that all discovered or seized items including weapons will be communicated to the public through established media outlets if the need arises. Own troops are deployed in all parts of Plateau state and environs to forestall any breakdown of law and order in conjunction with other security agencies, " the statement reads.

It urged the general public to disregard the rumour in social media and go about their normal businesses.
