OPSH arrests 91 criminals in Plateau

Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) arrested 91 suspected criminals within their area of operation from September 25, to October 4, this year.

The suspects were arrested in connection with kidnapping of University of Jos (Unijos) students, attack on Takania village, farm destruction, armed robbery, drug peddling, rustling, among others.

In a statement, spokesperson of the operation, Captain Oya James, said notorious kidnappers, Bashiru Musa and Idris Abdulrahman, who had been on the wanted list of OPSH were among those arrested in Mista Ali village in Bassa LGA of the state.

He said the suspects confessed to having been involved in the kidnapping of the seven Unijos students in July, 2023, adding that items recovered from the suspects included one AK-47 rifle loaded with 12 rounds of ammunition.
