Danbaba who spoke with newsmen about the team, said its operation would be in the areas of addressing political, economic, social and physical aspects relating to the crises that have bedeviled the state.
He said the outfit will use the period to create public awareness so as to sensitize people on its activities before it finally takes off with its physical programme adding that it is currently recruiting about 3,250 personnel made up of 10 youths from each of the 325 wards in the state to serve as “neighborhood watch men.”
The core personnel making the outfit, he said, would however be made of about 2,000 men, drawn from serving military and paramilitary outfits in the country which include; the army, air force, navy, immigrations service, the police, Nigeria civil defense corps, the national drug law enforcement agency, and the fire service.
The neighborhood watch he said will not carry arms while the core of the operatives drawn from the military and paramilitary outfits in the state would be the ones to carry fire arms but will be properly educated on how to go about it. He stressed his belief that the outfit will succeed given the immense preparation it has made and the outline it has for checking security breaches in the state.
