Chairman of Air Peace and Founder of Foundation for Ethnic Harmony in Nigeria (FEHN), Mr. Allen Onyema has hinted about intervening in the escalating tension over farmers-herders’ crisis.
Onyema who has been widely involved in promoting inter-ethnic harmony and peaceful coexistence said he is already doing something about dousing the current tension in the country.

In an interview monitored on Channels TV, the foremost airline operator also hailed the Federal Government for providing the conducive environment for airlines to operate, saying the industry had never had it so good.
Daily Trust reports that Onyema through his foundation had trained youth representatives across the major ethnic groups in Nigeria on harmonious relationships and peaceful coexistence.
But he said he would not relent in his activities in pursuit of peace among ethnic nationalities, stating, “I have already started trying to do something about it (farmers-herders’ crisis). I have already started. I remember taking some members of Miyetti Allah, Arewa and the IPOB boys on a training, taking them to the United States.”
The Air Peace chairman further said his decision to repatriate Nigerians stranded in South Africa in the wake of the xenophobic attack in that country was done out of his desire to end their suffering and not out of any gain.
“I felt that Nigeria is a stigmatized country and we are still stigmatized. What happened in South Africa, a lot of Nigerians lost their lives. If you are a Nigerian and you walk across the streets where there was crime, you are a criminal as long as you are a Nigerian. You don’t know the number of Nigerians in jail,” he added.
