Onne Port Customs collects N115.2b in 6 months

Authority in charge of Area II Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, in Onne, Rivers State, on Sunday said it collected N115.3 billion as revenue in the last six months 

It said the sum represents 47 per cent increase above the sum of N78 billion which it collected in the same period in 2021 and 147 per cent above the amount collected in 2020.

The Customs Area Controller, Area II Command, Onne Rivers State, Comptroller Auwal Mohammed, made this disclosure in the command’s half-year report issued yesterday.

Mohammed said the command collected a total of N115.3billion  from January to June 2022.

He said the 2022 half-year report shows a  remarkable difference from the N78b collected in the first half of 2021 and N46.6b collected in same period of 2020.

He said further comparison indicates 147 per cent increase above the 2020 collection and 47 per cent increase above 2021 figure showing differences of  N37.1 bn and  N68.2bn for 2021 and 2020 respectively.
