Seven weeks since the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) commenced online pre-registration of voters for the Continuous Voter Registration, 195,591 Nigerians have completed their physical registration.
A INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee (IVEC), Festus Okoye, said this on Monday in Abuja.

Daily Trust reports that while INEC commenced the online registration exercise on 28 June 2021, it also began the physical completion of the registration on 26 July 2021.
“As at 7am today Monday 9th August 2021, the number of online fresh registrants is now 1,609,981 while 195,591 citizens have completed their physical registration,” Okoye said.
He said that the detailed distribution of the registrants by state/FCT, gender, occupation, disability and type of registration are uploaded on the commission’s website and social media platforms.
He also urged all eligible citizens to seize the opportunity of both the online and in-person processes to register as voters.
