One person dies, another sustained injury in Osogbo auto crash

A car driver, Isiaka Adebayo, who was alleged to have killed a man, Mustapha Kabiru, and injured another in an automobile accident, was on Monday arraigned at a magistrate court in Osogbo, Osun State, for manslaughter.

The accident occurred at the Gbodofon-Ogo Oluwa area, along the Gbongan-Ibadan road, on Thursday

The police prosecutor, Inspector Akintunde Jacob, told the court that Adebayo drove in a dangerous manner to cause Kabiru’s death.

Jacob added that the defendant drove the vehicle on the highway without a driver licence, vehicle licence, road-worthiness, insurance certificate and hackney stage carriage.

Adebayo pleaded not guilty to the charge levelled against him.

The magistrate, Ishola Omisade, admitted him to bail in the sum of N500,000, with one surety in like sum, and adjourned the case till November 23, 2020.
