Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State on Thursday disclosed that within one month, 20 births were recorded in just one of the Internally Displaced Peoples’ (IDP) camps in the state.
Alia who made the disclosure at the premises of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) in Makurdi during the flag-off of food distribution to the IDPs expressed worry about the increasing number of fresh entrants into the camps occasioned by continued attacks in their villages.

Earlier, the SEMA Executive Secretary, Terna Iorpuu, explained that on his assumption of duty June 7, 2023, he visited all the camps and discovered that their situation was deplorable.
