One dies in Ogun gas explosion

A gas explosion on Sunday killed one person, whose identity was yet to be ascertained, at Golden Estate in Ijebu-Ode.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident on Sunday.

He explained that operatives of the command were deployed to the scene immediately the incident happened.

He however refuted reports of two deaths and four injuries in the gas saying, “Yes, it is true. But only one person died and his corpse has been taken to the state general hospital morgue in Ijebu-Ode.

Oyeyemi added that “There was nothing like apprehension. Immediately it happened, policemen were drafted to the place. It was even the police officers who evacuated the corpse and took it to the hospital.
