One CJTF killed, 10 IDP women abducted in twin attack on Borno villages

Suspected Boko haram insurgents have killed one member of civilian JTF and abducted about 10 Internally Displaced Persons from their farms in two separate attacks in Borno.

The Village Head of Mammanti, a suburb community of Maiduguri, Mohammed Ibrahim Bulama, told our reporter that about 100 houses were set ablaze as the attackers carted away livestock and other items.

“They packed their bicycles near trenches and started shooting sporadically. We all fled our homes exactly 11pm on Wednesday night, they looted and cart away more than 120 cows and goats before they burnt down not fewer than 100 homes.

“They also killed one of our active member of Civilian JTF by name ‘Alhassan Kwali’ now. We are appealing to the government to come to our aid, even mat we don’t have, no food to eat and all our source of livelihood has been destroyed by these evil people.

He pleaded to Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Buratai to deploy troops to the village because his people are fleeing due to lack security presence.

Similarly, in another attack in Korori area, near Bama town, more than a dozen women were forcefully taken away by suspected insurgents on their farm land.

A member of Civilian JTF who participated in search and rescue operations told our Reporter by phone that they would continue the operations tomorrow after meeting with Village Heads.

“we received distress calls at about 10:30am yesterday morning, when some IDP women came to report of their encountered with insurgents on their farm land in Korori area, Bama town; we mobilizes and swung into action on getting there, we met some of their farming tools but at least 10 women have been so far identified missing.

” We shall continue our operations tomorrow after meeting with relevant stakeholders so as to know what to be next action.”said CJTF source.
