ONE CHANCE: UNILORIN student robbed on campus

A 100-level student of University of Ilọrin, Moyosore Bright, was recently robbed by suspected once chance operators inside the school premises.

The incident, Daily Trust, gathered occurred when she boarded a mini bus (korope) at the school terminus on the main campus along other students heading for their hostel at Tanke, outside the school.

Confirming the incident, the spokeswoman of the state police command, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, in a statement on Sunday evening, said the victim is a student of Zoology Department.

According to her, “the incident occurred on January 26, 2024 1400hrs (2:00 pm)”, adding that the case was reported by the DPO of Tanke.

“However, she suddenly regained consciousness in the bush at about 1900hrs (7:00 pm) several kilometers away from Ilorin metropolis.

“No mark of violence on her while her mobile handset was intact but her gold chain, ATM cards and N3,000 were stolen from her.

“Investigation is ongoing to track down the culprits who perpetrated the act and other circumstances surrounding the incident.”

Ejire-Adeyemi quoted the Commissioner of Police, Victor Olaiya, as reassuring the public that the command would remain steadfast towards fighting all forms of crimes and criminalities while providing a secure environment for the people.

Contacted, the Director of Corporate Affairs, University of Ilorin, Mr Kunle Akogun, confirmed the development to Daily Trust on telephone, but said no further details on the development.
