‘One chance’ robber escapes lynching in Abuja

A suspected “one chance” robber escaped being lynched at Area 11, Garki, Abuja, on Tuesday.

A witness said that the suspect, who drove a Toyota Mazda, attempted to kidnap a woman who he picked in his car around the Banex Junction, Wuse II, Abuja.

He said the passenger, identified as Gloria Moses, boarded the “taxi” in order to convey her to Apo but that the suspect diverted to another route.

He further said, “The lady, upon getting close to Area 11, Garki, raised an alarm when the one chance driver tried to divert to another area. Passers-by intervened and flagged down the car and descended on the driver.

“The suspects were two in number but one escaped while the main suspect was beaten to a stupor before security operatives whisked him away.”

The spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, was yet to confirm the incident.
