Ondo State Commissioner for Health, Dr Wahab Adegbenro, has died at the age of 65 from COVID-19.
He was said to have died yesterday at the Federal Medical Centre in Owo as a result of the virus infection.

His death came barely 24 hours after the state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, disclosed publicly that he had contracted the virus.
Although there was no official confirmation of the death of the commissioner as at the time of filing this report, apprehension is rife in the state as the reality of the disease now hit the people.
Wahab Oluropo Adegbenro was born on June 5, 1955 at Ilara-Mokin in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State.
After his elementary education at Muslim Primary School, Ilara-Mokin between 1962 and 1967, he attended Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure and University of Benin, Benin City.
He established Crown Hospital, Akure where he was the Chief Medical Director and was subsequently appointed the Vice-Chairman, Ondo State Committee on Sports for the Disabled from 1997 to 1999 and later chairman of the Committee from 1999 to 2002.
Before his death, he was the Chairman, Ondo State Council of All Progressives Congress (APC) Muslim members.
