The Ondo State Government has shut down fifteen private hospitals and clinics in the southern senatorial district of the state for alleged illegal operations and promoting quackery.
Fifteen operators of the health facilities were also apprehended and detained at the police station for allegedly operating private hospitals below the required standard.

The Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Health, Folukemi Aladenola, who disclosed this, said the suspects were arrested after visiting 36 medical clinics located in Ore, Odigbo, Okitipupa, Ilutitun, and Iju-Odo among others and made the arrest.
Also speaking, the Head of the Monitoring team and Director, Hospital Services in the state ministry of Health, Dr Ayodele Adelusi, said all the affected facilities would not re-open until the necessary requirements were met.
