The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has extended its sale of expression of interest and nomination forms for the Ondo governorship election to Friday.
This was contained in a statement by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Barrister Felix Morka, on Thursday.
Recall that the APC ended its sale of forms on Wednesday after Ondo State governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and 15 others had obtained their forms.
The party said, “The sale of nomination and expression of Interest forms, and delegate forms for the 2024 gubernatorial primary election in Ondo State has been extended to Friday, 5th April, 2024.
“Prior to this extention, sale of forms was open from Wednesday, 27th March, 2024 to Wednesday, 3rd April, 2024, as contained in the earlier-published revised timetable and schedule of activities.”
The party did not state any reason for the extension, but an official told our correspondent that the extension was to give room for more aspirants to obtain the forms ahead of the primary election slated for April 20.
Our correspondent reports that already, the party has raked in N720 million from the sale of forms so far.
