Ondo election: Appeal court reserves judgement in Jegede’s case

The court of appeal in Akure has reserved judgement in the appeal of candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Eyitayo Jegede, in the October 10 governorship election in Ondo.

The three-man panel led by justice Theresa Ngolika Orji-Abadua gave the ruling after Jegede’s counsel, Oyeachi Ikpeazu, SAN, argued that Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu should be sacked because he was “not properly nominated” by his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Counsel to Akeredolu, APC and INEC, Akin Olujimi, Lateef and Charles Edosanmwon, however, faulted all the arguments of Jegede’s counsel, saying the case was a pre-election matter.
