A 35-year-old Tajudeen Adeyemi Adefisoye, the House of Representative candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has won the Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency seat at the National Assembly election held yesterday in Ondo State.
Mr. Adefisoye was declared the winner of the poll by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The 35-year-old SDP candidate polled 16,186 votes to beat his closest rival, Mr. Kayode Akinmade of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in the election.
Mr. Akinmade, a former Commissioner in the immediate past government of Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, polled a total votes of 14, 191 to come second in the poll.
INEC Returning Officer for the Federal constituency, Prof. V.A Bello announced the election result of the National Assembly at the Collation Centre of INEC in Owena on Sunday.
Accoding to him: “The SDP candidate, having satisfied the INEC rule of having the highest votes of 16,186 against his closest rival of the PDP who had 14,191 votes, is hereby declared winner of the election”.
