Ondo: 3 remanded for robbery

Three young men, Akinbobola Eric (28); Tomori Sunday (25) and Adjaino Martins (21), have been remanded by an Akure magistrates’ court over armed robbery.

The prosecutor, Inspector Augustine Omhenimhen, told the court that the accused conspired to rob which contravened Sections 1(1), (2)(a),(b) and (6)b and 5 (A&B) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) of Ondo State.

The Magistrate, O.R. Yakubu, said the court lacked jurisdiction to try armed robbery cases, but ordered the remand of the first and second accused at a correctional centre, that the third accused should remain in police custody till a wound he sustained during arrest healed and adjourned the case to April 5, 2021.
