Ondo state security agency, Amotekun Corps, has dissociated itself from the clash at Oba Akoko between supporters of All Progressives Congress (APC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in which six people were injured.
A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

In a statement signed by Adebayo Ayeni, the head of intelligence and public relations of the corps, said the security network had no hand in the clash.
“The agency remains resolute in its core responsibility of supporting Security Agencies to secure the state and rid it of criminal elements.
“We remain apolitical and shall not support any political party or take part in political activities.
“We however advise politicians to exercise restraints and caution their teeming followers to desist from engaging in acts that cause a breach of peace.
“Residents of the state are through this medium being assured of our commitment to the safety of lives and property and make Ondo state a safe haven”.
