The Ona of Abaji and chairman of the FCT Council of Chiefs, His Royal Majesty (HRM), Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa, has hosted the Emir of Kano, Dr. Aminu Ado Bayero, in his palace on Saturday.
Dr. Bayero, who arrived at the Ona’s palace with his entourage at about 7pm, was ushered into the inner chamber of the palace where he met traditional rulers.
The Ona of Abaji, Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa, expressed joy over the visit of the Emir of Kano to his chiefdom.
He said the visit was indeed a historical and memorable one, adding that such a visit was a clear sign of the recognition the emir has for the chiefdom.
He said Abaji chiefdom and Kano emirate share affinity, adding that the current Governor of Kano, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, was once a sole administrator of the council.
The monarch, therefore, appealed to the emir for support for the completion of Abaji central mosque, which he said has remained uncompleted for over 20 years.
Responding, the Emir of Kano appreciated the Ona of Abaji and members of his traditional council as well as stakeholders of the area for the honour and recognition accorded to him.
He said Abaji chiefdom has always been his home, while assuring him that he would try his best to give support to some of the challenges facing the chiefdom including the completion of the central mosque in the area.
