Sir, it is inarguable  that your incredible performance in your state’s educational sector in the payment of WAEC and NECO for Yobe indigenes has recorded unprecedented success. It is also pertinent to note that 90 per cent of the students recorded excellent results. In addition, government schools around the state are being renovated and some modernised to provide Yobe children with a conducive learning environment while workers’ dues are being paid on time, which will, without an iota of doubt, stimulate them to work diligently to provide  better education to the children.

Sadly, as you declared a state of emergency on education in Yobe, you should not have come up with this improper decision of deducting workers 10 per cent salaries. According to every educationally astute analyst, your new development of deducting workers’ salaries will be the undoing of their tireless efforts towards a positive change in Yobe State’s educational narrative.

Considering the current uncomfortable situation and hardship faced in the country, workers are finding it difficult to survive on their salaries. The Yobe State government has made an unusual decision which may adversely affect thousands of lives.

The Yobe State government should look for other ways to maintain the sectors without tampering with the salary of workers. The government should explore other ways to generate more revenue for its activities.
