Omala LG to build police station in Bagana

The chairman thanked the police in the area for their commitment to fighting crimes and securing lives and property.

The Chairman of Omala Local Government Council in  Kogi State, Ibrahim Yakubu Abo has said he will establish a police station in Bagana and Agbenema communities to curb the incessant squabbles  between  herders and farmers in the area.

He made the pledge when the Police Area Commander in charge of Ankpa/Omala/Olamaboro Federal Constituency, ACP Suleman Ishola, paid him a visit in Abejukolo.

The chairman thanked the police in the area for their commitment to fighting crimes and securing lives and property.

He implored all  stakeholders to continue to cooperate with the police and other security agencies.

The Area Commander commended the chairman for his support to the police in fighting crimes and  urged him to sustain the tempo.

He assured the chairman of his readiness to assist him in his mission to the local government area.

Kwara Govt begins free eye surgery for indigent.

The Kwara government on Thursday commenced the second round of its ‘Free Eye Care Intervention’ for indigent patients at the General Hospital in Kaiama Local Government Area of the state.

Speaking on the sidelines of the programme, Dr Abubakar Ayinla, the Permanent Secretary, Kwara Ministry of Health, said the surgical team was already in Kaiama and Kwara North Senatorial district where the free eye surgery had started.

He explained that the surgery would be conducted on a weekly basis in each of the designated centres for indigent patients who could not afford the cost of treating their eyes.

Ayinla said the exercise was a sight-restoring intervention for mainly people who had cataract in either or both eyes.  (NAN)
