Ex-Nigerian basketball star, Ejike Ugboaja (MFR), has commended D’Tigress for their historic Olympic Games quarter-final qualification.
Also, he extended his commendations to the Minister of Sports Development,  Senator John Owan Enoh, for providing all what the team needed for its preparation towards the games.
The team defeated Canada 79-70, to secured Nigeria’s first-ever Olympics quarterfinals ticket.
The first African ever to be  drafted directly from the local scene to the NBA was thrilled with the performances of the African Champions in their victory against Canada.
Ugboaja said, “I am very impressed by the performance of the girls so far, especially against Canada. Their success is a true reflection of their strength and character.”
However,  Ugboaja who was also a former board member of the immediate past Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), urged the team to sustain its momentum and  make sure it write its name in gold in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
“We know you can do it, please go for the podium finish, you  have made us proud, and we are all behind you.
“The Ministry under the leadership of Sen. John Owan Enoh has done well for the team and I know the girls are on their own way paying the country for believing in them,” Ugboaja said.
