The national U-23 Male team (Olympic Eagles) will today report to camp in preparation for the final lap of 2019 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifying series with Sudan.

This was made known yesterday in a press statement released by the Team’s Media officer, Sharif Abdallah.

The Imama Amapakabo led team are expected to report to camp on Thursday 8th August at Serob Legacy Hotel, Wuye, Abuja.

Amapakabo will be assisted by newly appointed Heartland FC coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu and former Plateau United manager, Kennedy Boboye.

The team is set to battle Sudan on the 5th of September in Omdurman with the return leg slated for Nigeria on the 10th.

To qualify for the final round of the series, Amapakabo’s wards lashed their Libyan counterparts 4-2 on aggregate, winning 4-0 at the Stephen Keshi Stadium after a 2-0 first leg defeat in Ben Guardia, Tunisia.

The dream team VII will be aiming to qualify for the U23 AFCON to be hosted by Egypt from 8th to 22 of November with the winners, runners up and 3rd placed teams representing Africa in Tokyo 2020 Olympics
