Head Coach Bankole Olowookere has unveiled his 20-player squad for the Nigeria U17 girls, the Flamingos, ahead of the WAFU B U17 Girls’ Cup kicking off on Thursday. The roster includes standout players from the recent FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, such as Shakirat Moshood and Harmony Chidi, alongside promising talents like goalkeeper Christiana Uzoma, defender Ayomide Ibrahim, and forward Peace Effiong.
The Flamingos, placed in Group B, will face the U17 teams of Niger Republic and Côte d’Ivoire in the two-week tournament. Hosts Ghana will battle Benin Republic in Group A following the withdrawal of Burkina Faso and Togo.
The Flamingos reached the quarter-finals of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic, showcasing an impressive nine-goal haul during the group stage before bowing out to the USA.
