Super Eagles manager Sunday Oliseh yesterday praised some of Nigerian players in Europe who have impressed in the colours of their various clubs in the UEFA Champions League and the English top flight.
The gaffer known for his frequent usage of social media site twitter to air his opinion on topical issues relating to football took to the same medium to hail the likes of Victor Moses, Odion Ighalo and Moses Simon who all had good outings for their teams.
“Glad to see Moses Simon start for Gent as they take on Lyon in the Champions league .A good week for our super Eagles players so far.” Oliseh wrote about Simon who starred for his Belgian club on Wednesday.
Earlier, the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder had expressed satisfaction with Ighalo who took his tally to 24 this year (the highest in English top four tiers) against Swansea and Moses who had an amazing debut for West Ham as they defeated Newcastle in Monday’s English Premier League fixture.
“West Ham’s second goal has Victor Moses written all over it. That’s an assist in my books. Congrats to Victor and I was also thrilled by Ighalo’s goal,” Oliseh mentioned via his handle.
In a recent interview with Completesports he charged other Eagles players in Europe to wake up and fight for their places in the starting line-ups of their respective clubs, adding that he invites players based on performance.
Since his appointment Oliseh has been urging the country’s stars in Europe to fight for shirts in their respective clubs’ first 11 or move to a club where they can be regulars, warning that he will not invite any player who is only good for their clubs’ benches.
