Olanipekun foundation empowers 200 persons with N8m

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Chief Wole Olanipekun, has lamented that the adverse effects of COVID-19 was sinking vulnerable Nigerians deeper into poverty.

The legal luminary who is the Asiwaju of Ikere Kingdom, disclosed this at the second edition of a Wole Olanipekun Foundation’s youth, widows and the aged empowerment programme where N8m was disbursed to 200 beneficiaries.

One hundred youths drawn from the various segments of society were given N50,000 each, while widows and the aged went home with N30,000 each at the ceremony.

Chief Olanipekun, who was represented at the occasion by the General Manager of Ikere-based New Cruise FM 92.7, Mr Jide Ogunluyi, called on the government at all levels to urgently help the vulnerable.

The Chairman of the Wole Olanipekun Foundation, Mr Seyi Ogoji, charged the beneficiaries to keep to the founder’s vision, which was to provide succour and ameliorate the suffering of the masses.
