A prominent lawyer, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN), presented over N30 million for scholarship and empowerment to students, youths, aged and widows at his country home, Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State, during the 26th edition of the annual Chief Wole Olanipekun Scholarship Scheme and Empowerment Schemes.
The legal luminary revealed that a total of 1,475 persons had benefited from the scholarship and empowerment schemes as at 2021, while calling on youths and students to shun internet fraud, kidnapping, ritual killing and other social vices to safeguard their future.

He said: “The schemes were conceptualised 26 years ago to vanish poverty, liberate the people and propel education among the children of the poor.”
Olanipekun urged the Governor of the state, Biodun Oyebanji, to place high priority on the development of education, infrastructure and internal security by strengthening the Amotekun Corps to provide adequate security and rejuvenate the economy.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Samuel Olowoyo, a law student, expressed his appreciation to Chief Olanipekun, saying this was the best time for the event considering the economic reality of the nation.
