Lagos based entrepreneur and philanthropist, Ocholi Yusuf Okpanachi better known as Don Pablo has condemned the recent killing of farmers in Borno State.

Okpanachi, who is the founder of Waves of Success Foundation (NGO) and Chief Executive Officer of Waves of Minds Resources Limited, said he was saddened when he woke up to the news of the killings in Borno state.

He said “it is unfortunate that this is happening in the middle of the harvest season when farmers were gathering their crops.

Recall that on Saturday, more than 43 people were killed in what he described as an “inhumane and senseless” attack near Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state.

Reports said the farmers were attacked by insurgents while they were harvesting their farms.

Reports show the attackers tied up farmers working in their rice fields, butchered them and set fire to their rice harvest silos.

This attack has been reported as one of the worst in recent months in a region where the Boko Haram insurgent group is known to be active.

Yusuf said he is putting plans in place to send some much-needed food items and basic amenities through his NGO (Waves of Success foundation),to the displaced villagers who are now in IDP camps.

He also called on the government to lend a helping hand to the survivors and also provide security for farmers in the area to prevent any future attacks.
