In an interview with Sunday Trust in London, Okorocha said Nigeria was going through “very trying moments” and needed a leader like General Muhammadu Buhari who would serve not just as president, but also as “a rescuer and stabiliser”.
“I see Gen. Buhari as someone who will act very quickly (if elected) to make things better in the country”, he said, adding that there are many credible Nigerians who will help him in the rescue efforts. Okorocha, who is one of the governors that accompanied Gen. Buhari when he delivered a lecture at Chatham House on Thursday, dismissed insinuations that Nigeria would disintegrate.
“The possibility of Nigeria disintegrating is not there”, he said, stressing that Nigerians were so mixed up together that it would be impossible to even think on what lines the disintegration would be possible.
“Nigerians are a special people created and put together by God for a purpose”, he said, explaining that the country was going through what other nations went through before getting to the point of development.
“We know we have problems and challenges. We have ways of resolving our problems and we shall resolve them amicably”, he said.
