Governor Rochas Okorocha has received the Operational Licence for the newly-established University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Aboh/Ngor/Umuagwo, from the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The operational licence was handed over to the governor by the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Prof. Abubakar Adamu Rasheed at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
The issuance of the licence marks the official take-off of the institution without further delay.
The University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences Aboh/Ngor/Umuagwo is one of the new six universities built by the Rescue Mission government in the State led by Okorocha.
The administration has in addition to these new universities also built four new polytechnics and two new colleges of education.
While handing over the operational licence, the Executive Secretary of the commission, Rasheed commended Okorocha for the huge investments he has made in Education in Imo State, while the governor said that he established the new tertiary Institutions for the benefits of hundreds of thousands of Nigerian Students especially Imo indigenes who seek for admission every year without success and not because they are not qualified, but because the spaces for admission in the existing Institutions are grossly limited.
