A 30-year-old commercial motorcyclist was yesterday reported killed by unidentified person in Gbazango, Kubwa, Abuja.

The deceased, identified as Zubairu Musa, was suspected to have been slaughtered around 2am by a passenger who struggled to snatch his motorcycle.

City News learnt that the deceased was found dead with his motorcycle by his side opposite Local Education Authority (LEA) Primary School in the area.

A resident said a passer-by who sighted the body of the deceased, placed a distress call to the police who immediately came and removed the body.

A police source said the body was taken to the Kubwa General Hospital where he was certified dead by a doctor before he was taken away by relations.

In another case, the police recovered a blue coloured Nissan Super Spot in Phase 2, Site 1 area of the same town.

The car was said to have been removed where it was parked in front of the driver’s house.

City News gathered that the owner of the vehicle had sent the driver for an errand when it was stolen.

The source said the driver who came out of the house to discover that the car had been removed, immediately alerted the owner who subsequently reported the case to the police.

The source said the police quickly swung into action which led to the recovery of the car where it was abandoned in Kukwaba area of the town.

Reacting, the Kubwa Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Chief Superintendent Nuruddeen Sabo, confirmed the murder of the cyclist, saying the body had been carried by the relations for burial.
