The Kwara State Police Command has arraigned a commercial motorcyclist, Mohammed Ojo, over alleged possession of two pistols in Ilorin.
According to the police First Information Report (FIR), the accused was arrested with a colleague (at large) on Asa Dam Road by officers on a stop-and-search while riding a TVS motorcycle.
The FIR reads in part: “But they made a U-turn and attempted to escape before they were pursued and Ojo was arrested while his cohort escaped. Two locally made pistols were recovered from him after a search in which he could not give a satisfactory account of how he got the guns.”
The police further told the court that the investigation showed that the accused illegally procured the guns and conspired with his colleague to rob citizens.
