Members of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) have condemned  last Friday’s terror attacks in Paris, France that left many people dead, calling for serious global action against terrorism.
The association also urged the federal government to evolve strategies for checking illegal entry into Nigeria and tighten security around the nation’s borders to secure the country while also checking terror attacks in the North-east.
In a statement by its National Public Relations Officer, Comrade Emmanuel Ojugbana, PENGASSAN commiserated with France, the families of the victims and other countries whose citizens were affected.
He urged the United Nations and all peace loving countries to intensify the fight against terrorism through the multilateral campaigns and cooperation to bring terrorists and their activities to a halt.
“The war against terror is not an easy win war like conventional one because terrorists and their masterminds will always look for opportunities to strike at the least expected time when security is relaxed and the situation seems calm. This is why we are calling on the federal government to ensure that all our borders are effectively and efficiently policed to prevent terrorists and their sponsors from entering our country. We ask that modern technology be deployed to all borders, especially the porous land borders”, he said.
