The House of Representatives has assured the Nigerian Navy (NN) that it will continue to support its initiatives to effectively protect the nation’s pipelines and other critical assets in the oil and gas industry against crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism.
The Chairman, House Special Committee on Crude Oil Theft, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, gave the assurance when he led members of the committee to the Naval Headquarters in Abuja over the weekend.

Doguwa, who is also the Chairman, House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream), told the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, that there was the need to strategise through collaborative initiatives for the effective policing of pipelines and other critical assets in the oil and gas industry against crude oil thieves and vandals.
In his remarks, Admiral Ogalla commended the committee for its efforts to help in checkmating the menace of pipeline vandalism, crude oil theft and other criminal activities.
