Oil theft: Don, 1 other charged with N34m fraud

A 74-year old Professor, Yusufu Ameh Obaje, and a 39-year old business woman, Sanni Abimbola Olive, have been arraigned before a Federal High Court, Lagos, over offences bordering conspiracy, theft and obtaining N34 million from an oil and gas servicing firm. 

The police told the court that the accused obtained the money in two tranches of N27m and N7m to finance a contract awarded by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) to Golden Bimby Nigeria Limited/Sanni Abimbola Olive.

The police said that the documents relating to the contract and landed property used as collateral for the credit facility were forged.

Spokesman of the Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU), Eyitayo Johnson, told newsmen that, “The accused have been charged to the Federal High Court, Lagos, on a three-count charge.”
