Fluctuating crude oil price has shown to Nigerians that the time is now for diversification away from oil, the new Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, Mr Bitrus Bako Nabasu, has said.
Nabasu stated this on Wednesday when he held an inaugural meeting with the staff of the ministry in Abuja.

The permanent secretary said Nigeria could not depend on oil alone and prosper as a country.
He said digitalisation of the economy would quicken the development of Nigeria’s economy and reduce poverty.
He told the staff that their main job is the implementation of decisions and policies set by the federal government.
Nabasu, while acknowledging the achievements of the ministry, urged the staff to support the minister in his drive to achieve the targets set for him by President Muhammadu Buhari.
