Prominent indigenes of Ebira in Kogi State have berated their traditional ruler, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Dr. Ado Ibrahim, for allegedly disrespecting the offices of President Muhammadu Buhari and Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello.

The statement titled “Ohinoyi’s Query Is Perfectly In Order” was given to newsmen in Lokoja on Monday and signed by the elder statesman, Isa Ozi Isa, Ohiotenyete of Ebiraland and President, Nigeria Institute for Industrial Security; and HRH Salihu Abdullahi, Ajimasi Idu Eyire Uhuapa Ebiya and Secretary, Ebira Peoples Human Rights Defence, Okene.

The group said that monarchs in the land must respect constituted authority and should not play God.

It was learnt from a source in the palace at Okene that the monarch had responded to the said query and had met the president over the crisis.

Meanwhile, the Kogi State government said Ohinoyi of Ebiraland gave his consent to the idea to build a new palace when consulted but responded negatively when he was invited to attend the commissioning of the project.

 The state Commissioner for the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barrister Salami Ozigi Deedat disclosed this in a statement issued in Lokoja on Monday.
